Travel Update: SINGAPORE

Hello Lovelies,

Today, is a travel update about my recent trip in March. I travelled with my dad & sister on a 14 day holiday to Vietnam!

Sitting on the aeroplane for 8 hours straight, we finally reached our first stop over: SINGAPORE! Arriving at 3:00pm and flighting again the next day at 8:00am, we had a mere 17 hours to use!

Our 17 hours check list consisted of:
  • Book a room at Ambassador Transit Hotel
  • Explore the whole Airport
  • Shop/Eat
  • Singapore Airline Tour (which was a last minute thing we did)
  • Sleep & board our next flight

Ambassador transit Hotel:
Having a lot of check-in bags, we needed a hotel to place our stuff and sleep. Wanting a close place to the airport, we checked into Ambassador Transit Hotel! The hotel was definitely very pricey but we had no other choice. It was a cosy 3 bedroom with no window (which was weird), besides that nothing really extraordinary.

Changi Singapore Airport:
WOW! This airport is absolutely amazing, with 3 terminals and automatic sky trains to take you to each sections, this was like a dream compared to Australia airports! Including: Shops, 24/7 food courts, indoor ponds/plants, statues, plus so much more! Here's a few photos:

Shop & Eat:
There was plenty of shops at Singapore airport, but sadly AUD currency is nearly the same as SGD, therefore the pricing of everything is really the same as buying it in Australia.

I brought a Charles & Keith Handbag for $80!!! The handbag is sooo cute and cheap! I was surprised when I looked at the price tag! I wanted to buy more on the way home but that never happened lol.

Singapore had 24/7 FOOD COURT! Like come on, REALLY? How much better can this airport get. My dad was off wondering somewhere, so my sister and I went to eat first. We shared Satay Chicken Sticks, Dry Wonton Noodle with BBQ Pork & Dumpling and Mixed Seafood Noodle with Soup Gravy! The dishes were served in large portions and very affordable. We ended up not finishing it all.

Singapore Airline Tour:
During, our time exploring the airport, we passed a few FREE SINGAPORE AIRLINE TOUR! It wasn’t until the very last minute that we decided to go. We signed up and had to wait 15 minutes for the next and last tour of the day (6:00pm).

After the 15 minutes were up, we took a sky train to terminal 1, where we had to go through passport check to exit the airport (this took foreverrrrr…….). Resulting, in a delay for our tour which now started at 7:30pm instead of 6:00pm.

We hopped onto the tour bus, which was run by an Singaporean guy with a funny and energetic personality. We visited many attractions, such as: Garden by the bay, The Lion/Fish Statue and the rest of the trip was driving by the city and viewing the night-life of Singapore.

The tour took 2.5 hours, so when we returned to the airport, we headed straight to our hotel to shower and get ready for bed, for our next flight tomorrow morning.

  7. Wow, the airport sounds lovely and so convent! 24/7 food court?! One thing I hate about traveling super early here in NY, is that not all the restaurants are open early. Thanks for sharing, girlie, and I hope you have a great week ahead!
